COURSE DESCRIPTION:  This course builds on Community Health Nursing I and will equip the learners with the knowledge, attitudes and skills required to provide appropriate community-based nursing care in a variety of settings. It prepares students with the necessary knowledge, attitude and skills to manage and promote health restoration in patients and members of the community with common infections, infestations, tropical and sexually transmitted diseases. Theory content from CHN I is reviewed as a foundation for community health nursing practice.  Practical components round out the learning and bring theoretical concepts to life through visits to villages nearby the Muni Campus. The local disease epidemiology in West Nile Region and Uganda is used as a lens to focus students on community health issues.
