Organizations (profit and nonprofit) operate in a complex, dynamic and competitive environment. Managing the function of production and service delivery is core for the business. This course is designed to introduce students to the function of production/operation which is actually the primary engine that drives other functions of the business.
Course Objectives
i. Introduce students to the basic elements and concepts of production and operations management so that they understand the systems that governs the activities of manufacturing and service operations in organizations and hence enable them to make better informed decisions.
ii. Enable students, understand and appreciate the transformation process of goods and services through optimal use of available resources so as to help achieve desired and competitive qualities and quantities of a good / services at minimal costs.
